Stéphanie Melanson M.Ed.
Learning Specialist – Research and Innovation Lead
Stéphanie Melanson is the Research and Innovation lead for the Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in New Brunswick (Canada).
Stéphanie obtained her Bachelor of Education degree from the Université de Moncton in 2007. She then completed a Master’s degree in resource teaching at the Université de Moncton in 2009 then worked as a resource teacher for almost 8 years. This experience allowed her to work with fellow teachers, parents, community members, but most importantly, students with a multitude of strengths and challenges. Her interest in the autism spectrum disorder began in 2012, when she was part of the province’s first cohort of resource teachers who completed level 1 of the ASD and Behavioural Interventions training. She then completed level 2 of the “Learning for teaching” training in 2014–2015. In January 2016, she had the opportunity to work in the South Francophone school district as a Learning Support Services Learning Specialist. In September 2016, she became an Education Support Services Learning Specialist at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and worked with teams of resource teachers from the province who were completing Level 2 training.
